First there was The Village at Alderwood Mall. Then Bothell created The Village at Beardslee Crossing to include brand new apartments and stores. Now, Totem Lake is joining the team! Remember the building project in Downtown Kirkland called Kirkland Urban? The next big thing is coming and it’s really turning some heads! You won’t believe it when you see it!

The Village at Totem Lake is even bigger than I imagined in the first place. The project is a joint venture between CenterCal and PCCP LLC. The original Totem Lake Mall is over 4 decades old and it’s getting one heck of face lift. The property is being redeveloped into a mix-use center anchored by a Whole Foods and a theater. It will also have a big plaza and lawn with a kids play area, decks, a water feature, outdoor dining, and bunch of new restaurants. This exciting project is estimated to take about a year to complete.

The project is being built in two phases:

Phase I: The Lower Mall is the area between Totem Lake Blvd and 120th Ave. NE. It will consist of:

  • 189,000 square feet of retail space + stand-alone buildings in parking lot
  • Ross and tenants north of Ross will remain
  • 200 residential units.

Phase II: The Upper Mall is the area of the property east of 120th Ave NE.

  • 41,700 square feet of ground floor retail, movie theater, and restaurant space
  • 650 residential units
  • Public plaza

I’m excited to see what the end result will be and what this project will add to Totem Lake area. This is sure to help the area grow and be successful.

Now if they could do this same exact thing in the “East Gateway Urban Village in Mill Creek, that would be awesome.
